Tutorial : How to Submit Blogger Sitemap For Better Indexing in Search Engine

I discover this method at Labnol.Org and I think the method is really good and decided to share it with you.

Sitemap is very important to every website or blog and a good sitemap will make Search Engines like Google, Yahoo crawl your site and index your blog content. More of your content indexed by Search Engine means, you get more traffic or visitors to your site. More visitors, more income you can generate and it can helps your blog to achieve better page rank.

Here's the step you need to follow:-
Step 1: If you haven’t done this already, sign-in to your Google Webmasters account and add your blog.

Step 2: Once your blog is added to Google, open the Sitemap Generator and type the full address of your blogspot blog (or your self-hosted Blogger blog).

Step 3: What you get is list of sitemap files that contain each and every page of your blog. You now just have to ping Google, Yahoo and Bing to inform them about these XML sitemaps.

As shown in the video screencast below, you need to manually add each of the sitemap files into your Google Webmaster Tools dashboard but for Bing or Yahoo, you can simply click blue hyperlinks and these search engines will automatically download the relevant sitemap files from your blogspot site.

Uncover 4 Popular Steps to Amplify Your Blogging
By Sean R Mize

Blogging used to be a popular hobby for a lot of people. They use blogs to write about their thoughts and even to relieve stress. But nowadays, blogging has become more than that. In fact, you can earn thousands of dollars from blogging alone if you know how to do the necessary methods to make it profitable. You should note though that a lot of people try to generate income from their blogs but end up with very little profits. If you want to avoid this scenario, then read on and follow the 4 popular steps to amplify your blogging:

The first step you should do is to choose a high-paying keyword for your blog. By high paying, this does not mean that you need to choose technical terms because this generates the highest paying advertisers. But rather, if technology is not your expertise, you should choose words that most people commonly search for. You need to identify popular phrases and integrate them on your blog. This will make the blog rank higher in search engines and increase its popularity.

Then of course, it is also important for you to have a great template and even graphics on your blog to make it more interesting. Nowadays, simple content is not enough; people are looking for pictures, great designs, and even other features to make them become loyal. They are also looking for humor and even interaction between other visitors in your blog.

Another way to amplify your blogging is by updating your site regularly. Post new content, video, images, commentaries, stories, etc. on a regular basis. This will give your readers a reason to come back.

The last step is to promote your blog. There are many ways to do this but probably one of the most popular and effective way is through linking with other blogs. Of course, the blogs you link to should have the same category as your blog.

How to Backup a Blogger Blog

If you have a blog hosted on BlogSpot[dot]Com like me, and you’ve upgraded to the new version, there’s an easy way to backup your blog articles and all the image that you've uploaded for previous post.

This page lists the latest X posts from the blog:
http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/search?max-results=X
Instead of X, type the number of posts. If your blog has less than 1000 posts, you can save this page:
http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/search?max-results=1000

To download all the photos uploaded to your blog, we are using Firefox extension called, DownThemAll.
DownThemAll is fast, reliable and easy-to-use! It lets you download all the links or images contained in a webpage or blog and much more: you can refine your downloads by fully customizable criteria to get only what you really want!

There’s also a way to get all the posts in an XML feed. This is a better format if you intend to import it in a database.
http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?max-results=1000

The number of posts can be easily obtained from the Dashboard.

You can also backup the comments:

Leave Comment On Blogger Using OpenID

Do you know, now you are able to allow your readers/visitors to use OpenID to leave a comment. For those who still do not know what is OpenID, OpenID is a decentralized single sign-on system. That means, this system will only need users to register their username and password once, and that username and password can be used at any websites that support this system.OpenID is increasingly gaining adoption among large sites, with organizations like AOL and Orange acting as a provider.

As far as I know from my reading at Wikipedia, this system is fully functional in Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and a few other sites like Wordpress, AOL/AIM, LiveJournal and SixApart. You can see and view the full list of OpenID usage at OpenID Servers.

Just want you to know, this new system and feature is currently in testing phase and if you bloggers would like to giveit a try, just login to Blogger in Draft and then go to your blog Settings. Under comment tab, choose "Registered Users - includes OpenID" option. ( under Who Can Comment section ). Save Settings and you're done !
